Vyrill vs Videowise

June 7, 2022

Imagine this: you have an online Shopify Store. In addition to pictures, you obviously want to add videos to your online shop because you know how this can boost the sales of your product.

There are some platforms that offer the feature to add videos to your Shopify Store. But what exactly is the difference between these platforms? Today we are going to discuss and compare two of these platforms that are active in this fast-growing video industry: VideoWise and Vyrill. In doing so, we will also look at various situations where Vyrill or VideoWise may be a better partner.

But before all that, let’s meet the actual products/begin with this:

More and more companies are realizing lately how important video is. And admit it, we all use it. Whether it's through influencers, or through product videos themselves, it gives us a realistic idea of what the product will be like. As a shop owner, it is therefore really important to focus on video. The customer will be able to make choices faster, and therefore going to cause sales to increase.

What exactly does Vyrill do? Recently Vyrill launched its new Shopify app. The app offers Shopify store owners a very strong additional asset: add relevant videos to your Shopify store. So Vyrill provides an interactive and personalized video-led shopping experience by displaying the right UGC and branded videos in your Shopify Store.

Influencers also remain an important part of the video world, and Vyrill makes it easy for you to connect with these influencers and reach the best influencers per brand. Through the Vyrill platform, you can easily invite influencers to collaborate on a campaign or commission new videos. You can then manage all content licensing operations and payments within the app.

But the feature where Vyrill excels most is the ‘In-Video’ Search. You might think it needs more explanation, but it doesn't: you can literally search inside a video. Just to give an example, suppose a beauty brand puts a video that has gone viral on YouTube on their Shopify store. Many people just want to skip to the essence of the video, but often don't know where exactly it is. Vyrill allows you to search for specific words in the video, such as "eyelashes" for example. You are then taken directly to the right part of the video, and do not have to waste time watching long videos.

With the Vyrill App, you also have full access to the Vyrill platform, where you can easily see what the most trending videos are for your brand, giving you an instant idea of which videos are best to feature on your product pages.

Vyrill Pricing

Vyrill is offering a special promotion which means the price for the app is $149 per month (add link to Shopify store). Vyrill also offers a free trial for 30 days, where you can upload up to 50 videos.

The other pricing plans for the Vyrill platform are as follows:

  • The Starter plan, which allows you to source 100 videos per month. This plan is $199 per month.
  • The Leader plan, where you can source up to 300 videos per month. This comes to $359 per month.
  • The Enterprise plan is based on custom pricing.

All these plans are also available at a lower price if you take out an annual subscription. The first plan, for example, costs $166 per month, and the second plan would cost $300 per month.

So how is VideoWise different?

VideoWise, like Vyrill, has the option to add videos to your Shopify Store. So Vyrill offers the option to add UGC and branded videos from YouTube and Dropbox, while VideoWise offers the option to add TikTok videos, Instagram reels and also YouTube videos to your Shopify Store. VideoWise also uses video analytics for online stores so that brands will know exactly which videos convert and appeal more to their shoppers so that the shoppers can optimize and use the best videos to increase engagements and conversions.

The biggest difference is how both companies analyze videos. Videowise only looks at vanity metrics such as likes, comments, shares and views to analyze a video and thus choose which videos are the best. Vyrill on the other hand, also takes these vanity metrics into account but does so much more, including ‘In-Video’ search data on sentiment, brand-safety, demographics, speech transcripts and keyword reports. Through the Vyrill platform, Vyrill also allows you to find and screen video creators faster and with more data to help you understand which creators would make good brand ambassadors. You can also analyze videos here and download the transcripts for other uses.

VideoWise Pricing

Videowise has four pricing plans:

  • The first pricing plan is free. You can upload videos on one product page.
  • The second pricing plan is Smart, where you can upload videos on up to 10 different product pages. This comes to $79/month.
  • The third pricing plan is Wise. Here you can upload videos to 50 different product pages. This comes to $249/month. With Wise, you can also scrape YouTube for relevant videos associated with your brand and products.
  • The last pricing plan is Enterprise and works on the basis of custom pricing. It includes the same features as the 'Wise' plan, but with unlimited videos on product pages.

So both apps have different aspects for videos on Shopify to offer. But let me make it clear with an example: in what situation would you be better off using Vyrill or VideoWise right now?

VideoWise is excellent if you are just looking for some videos to add to your Shopify Store. For example, suppose you're a brand that sells sunglasses through Shopify and you want to increase your sales. First of all, you want to add videos to your online store. For this brand, it can be interesting to turn videos into 'shoppable videos', and this is possible with Videowise. It is also interesting to see the numbers behind these videos, such as how much longer the average customer stays on their site because of the videos, but also how many people watched the videos.

Vyrill also offers the feature to add videos to your Shopify Store, but goes much deeper into this to make the customer experience as best and easy as possible. For example, let's say you have a Shopify Beauty Store, and you want to highlight your latest eye shadows and increase sales of them. First, the Vyrill platform allows you to select the top fan videos about this new product, as well as videos your own brand has made. Then the app allows your shoppers to look for the aspects of this eyeshadow they are most interested in in the video. This way, your shoppers no longer have to waste their time watching long videos to have an idea about your product. So the app is an easy way to make videos relevant and useful.

Both are interesting companies that have a lot to offer for the future in the video industry. Interesting platforms to keep an eye on!
